Coach Abe

Bears blog on News-Leader.com has is right. Read it here

The Lady Bears under coach Abe didn't seem to be as community friendly as under the previous Coach.  I remember seeing all sorts of people in the stands for Lady Bears practice before Coach Abe.  At the very least, it ewasn't openly discouraged.

Coach Burnett didn't seem to mind if we took pictures of practice.  But it seemd to be a real problem for Coach Abe.

Add the poor results in the last two seasons, and growing detachment from the community, and the departure of Coach Abe isn't all that surprising.  Just didn't think it would happen this year.

Willie Wednesday

This is the second time this month that I've covered something like this:
Truck Crashes Through Two Businesses

This one was accidental.  The last one was intentional.

Also:

Went to Branson today, and wound up in the same bus as Willie Nelson:
Willie Nelson Helps Open New Branson Theater

Willie seemed like a really nice fellow.  I didn't ask him any questions.

New Pics

Added some new pics to my page.  I have some more that I've taken on Flickr:

Some are the same as here.  One day, I'll get a good digital camera.  Film is too expensive, we have about a dozen rolls we still need to develop.

More on those US Attourneys...

Why is it that the Wall Street Journal is the only one giving analysis like this?

Scooter Libby

Check out this link from Bloomberg:

`Scooter' Libby Jury to Announce a Verdict in CIA Leak Trial

Frm CBS:

Libby Guilty In CIA Leak Case

Was this really the "CIA Leak Trial"?  Libby wasn't on trial for leaking anything.  It was for lying about something that may not have been a crime in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, if he obstructed justice, and lied in front of a federal grand jury he should get into trouble and maybe go to prison.

I just have a problem with writers of headlines making this out to be something that it isn't.

Remember ... Bill Clinton obstructed justice and lied to a Federal Grand Jury about something that wasn't a crime either. ( All I'm pointing out is that this is a similar set of circumstances )
