So today I had a new wrench thrown into my life.

Right now KOLR/KSFX is between weekend sports anchors.

Dan Lucy is the TV color commentator for the MSU Bears basketball games.

Since MSU was on the road this weekend, that left us with no anchor. No problem ... we'll just throw some highlites together, and have the news anchor read them.

I got the job of logging the game and editing the high lites and post game that Dan was to send after the game.

One problem. Mediacom was sending a digital feed, and we always seem to have trouble tuning digital feeds on the weekend. Consequently, I didn't get to log the game because I was trying to help Master Control figure out the problem.

Eventually we got one signal with an excellent picture ... but no sound.

We got another signal with excellent sound, but a completely unusable picture.

So, I recorded both feeds and managed to sync the picture to the sound(for post game). Our Avid system made this part relatively easy ... I just wish I could've been able to enjoy the experience. Mostly ... I just felt like crap afterwards.

Yoda, Darth Vader ... HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!

Check out the story on 1up.com

A Brad Pitt MUSEUM?????

Don't know HOW I missed this when the brief firestorm hit.

Apparently SPRINGFIELD was planning a Brad Pitt museum! Well, not really ... but judging from the nearly 40 stories I saw on the internet ... it was a done deal.

This story Pitt Museum Planned for Star's Hometown on Hollywood.com(Posted on January 7) started it all:

Susan Wade, head of PR for the town, says, "Springfield is very Midwestern and family oriented. We're glad to have Brad as part of our history and culture. In fact, we need a Brad Pitt Museum."

And should have ended here on Radar(Posted on January 7 at 3:30pm) Brad Pitt Museum Dreams Demolished:

according to Springfield, Missouri, PR manager Susan Wade, "It's not true."

So, someone sees the first story, and the rumor goes world wide. Websites in Scotland and China print variations of the first post. Susan Wade even has her gender changed in one story. Reporters even ask Don Cheadle and George Clooney for comment at the Broadcast Film Critics Awards.

Now, I KNOW that I'm an idiot ... but how does "we need a Brad Pitt museum" become "Pitt Museum Planned"? Is it just the fact that headline writers are idiots and these other websites ONLY look at headlines?

Don't you think that SOMEONE in the Springfield media would have found out and leaked that before Hollywood.com? Didn't ANY of these people find it odd that NO Springfield news source appeared on a Google search of the topic?

So even tho some sensible websites destroyed the story on Monday ... I just saw that a site from the UK posted the story 9 hours ago.

Well ... I'm done rambling. This is quite possibly the most I have EVER thought about Brad Pitt in my life!

Just for clarity, Susan Wade is the spokesperson for the Springfield, Missouri, Convention & Visitors Bureau. The Public Information Officer for the City of Springfield is Louise Whall.
